TEXAS HOUSE FLIPS: LEGISLATIVE PRIORITIES MAY CHANGE
Democrats captured the Texas House, adding a major new factor to the state’s legislative agenda.
The Associated Press reports that Democrats won control of the Texas House for the first time since 2002 as part of a wider set of state-level gains.
House control matters for which bills advance, committee leadership and budget negotiations. It does not mean any specific property-tax, school or energy measure has already passed.
The state Senate, governor and House will each shape what can become law when the next legislative session begins.
