U.S. STRIKES IRANIAN TARGETS! STRAIT OF HORMUZ ON EDGE

U.S. strikes near the strategic waterway complicate diplomatic efforts, AP reports.

U.S. forces struck Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz, according to an American official cited by the Associated Press. Reports of explosions emerged from islands and coastal areas as mediators continued efforts to negotiate a reduction in hostilities.

The operation renewed uncertainty over regional security and maritime traffic. The full consequences of the strikes were not immediately clear, and claims from the parties involved require independent confirmation.
