TEXAS VOTES TODAY! THE COUNTDOWN TO 7 P.M. IS ON

Election Day polls are open across Texas; first unofficial returns are expected after closing.

Texas voters are casting ballots Tuesday in contests for Congress, statewide offices and local positions. Polls are scheduled to close at 7 p.m. local time, and election officials expect the first unofficial returns shortly afterward.

The initial figures will largely reflect early ballots. Election-night totals can change as more precincts report, and official canvassing takes longer. Voters should check their county election office for polling-place details and any local changes.
