Austin Council Pushes Back on Parmer Lane Highway Proposal

Austin City Council has taken a position against a preliminary concept that would convert parts of Parmer Lane into a highway-style corridor with frontage roads. Council members instead urged regional transportation planners to emphasize safety, walking, cycling and transit and to conduct a full environmental review. The proposal remains preliminary, and the council resolution is not itself a final transportation design decision.
