A lifelong fascination with severe weather
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Mark Meyers became fascinated by weather—especially severe thunderstorms and tornadoes—when he was a kid.
In 1982, he bought a Bearcat 20/20 scanner to follow severe storms and listen to radio traffic during weather events and races. It was an early way to stay connected to the action as storms developed across North Texas.
Mark once dreamed of becoming a meteorologist and television weatherman. His education and career ultimately led him in a different direction, through education, technology and broadcasting, but his enthusiasm for weather never went away.
Today, as founder and executive producer of Texas News Studio, Mark still enjoys following weather developments and occasionally providing live weather updates and nowcasting during the Texas News Studio livestream.
For Mark, weather is more than a daily forecast. It's been a lifelong fascination.
